Summer Recruiting at BBC

Office Update

With many Christian colleges competing for the hearts of the students in our churches, Baptist Bible College has found it necessary to increase the size of their recruiting teams. On our campus we practice the motto that every person, every staff, every administrator and every professor is a recruiter for the College.

Here are four reasons we believe Baptist Bible College is the best choice in Christian Higher Education available today:

1

At Baptist Bible College, we believe every young man and women should enjoy the benefits of a solid Christian education. Statistics indicate a majority of high school Seniors in our Bible believing churches who attend secular universities will eventually drop out of church. Because of that statistic alone we believe that every high school senior should consider a Christian college. For those students who aren’t sure where they fit in God’s plan, Baptist Bible College offers the ability to take many of the required core courses in a wonderful Christian atmosphere, thus receiving a solid foundation that will prepare them to find God’s plan for their life.

2

Baptist Bible College offers an exceptional education. Gone are the days when “Christian Education” meant inferior academic standards. A degree from Baptist Bible College is highly respected among institutions of higher learning. Today’s parents and students demand the best education available in the subjects offered. At Baptist Bible College we are proud of our academic record. Dr. Greg Christopher, Vice President for Academic Affairs, leads a solid group of men and women who are highly qualified, conservative in theology, leaders in their local church and committed to a proper interpretation of God’s Word. Our accreditation is the highest available through both the Higher Learning Commission and the Association for Biblical Higher Education. More information about our academic standards is available on the web at www.gobbc.edu. By the time they have graduated, every student receives 30 credit hours of Bible/theology instruction.

3

Baptist Bible College remains one of the best values in Christian higher education. Even though we offer the highest standards of excellence in education, our per credit hour tuition rate of $200 represents one of the best values available in Bible education. Our administration and faculty work hard to keep a high quality Christian education well within the ability of every family desiring secondary education, and many churches and individuals contribute to the institution in order to keep tuition reasonable.

4

Baptist Bible College offers a superior atmosphere for personal growth. The heartbeat of our campus is the twice-per-week chapel services. Filled with passionate praise and worship and blessed with great preaching, our students love to attend chapel. Students at BBC are not just learning to serve each other and the Lord, they ARE serving NOW. Our Campus Pastor, Jon Slayden, and his wife Christy are tremendous models for our students to follow. Their lives are intricately woven into the life of our campus and they are constantly available to help our students reach their goals. The guidelines for campus life at BBC provide principles and expectations that are conservative and yet reasonable, offering students the best opportunity for them to increase in knowledge, grow spiritually and develop a conservative Biblical worldview.

When we say BBC is simply the best choice, we aren’t just using a marketing phrase. Everyone on campus has worked and continues to work tirelessly to bring excellence to every area of our campus.

Currently, our recruiting teams are extended all over the country to spread the Gospel and the good news about BBC. John and Christy Slayden are in youth camps during the summer. Our music team, Breakaway, is leading worship in camps and churches. Two of our Recreation Teams are assisting churches with their youth camps all summer long and many of our students are serving with LIFT Camps. President Edge and I are traveling in churches and to Fellowship Meetings throughout the year. Additionally, we have a team of students who are working the phones with prospective students. Finally, we have offered every student the opportunity to reduce their tuition by $500 this Fall by bringing a new student with them when they return to BBC.

You can have confidence in the administration, faculty and staff of Baptist Bible College. You can also have confidence in the conservative Biblical foundations of BBC (see www.gobbc.edu and click “About BBC” for a complete listing of our Mission, Core Values, Distinctive, etc.).

There are three things you can do to help us:

  1. Encourage every high school senior to attend Baptist Bible College. It is a decision they and you will not regret. Challenge parents to send their students to BBC.

  2. If you do not currently support BBC on a monthly basis, consider adding us to your missionary family. What better investment of your missionary dollar is there than the institution that is training the best missionaries, pastors and Christian leaders? Like the boy with the loaves and fish, your gift will be multiplied exponentially.

  3. Prayer displays our dependence on God’s ability, and so we ask you to pray specifically for the needs of BBC. During the summer months our cash flow is greatly reduced. Pray for God’s provision. Also pray for the safety of our men and women as they travel extensively throughout the summer representing Baptist Bible College.

I recently met with one of our Breakaway singers, Bethany Slack. When asked what she hoped to accomplish this summer, she said, “I want to be the catalyst to help kids get pumped about BBC. I want to go and help kids get excited about God.” Bethany is just one of hundreds of reasons why BBC is so important to me. I am honored to have a part in training the next generation of Christian workers and leaders for the gospel ministry. If Bethany is any indication of what next generation leadership holds for us, we have nothing to worry about. I hope you will work together with me to ensure that Baptist Bible College is the institution that Bethany needs.
