Suggestions On Taking A Distance Education Course
We would like to suggest several things to maximize your educational success while at Baptist Bible College.
- Have daily contact with necessary computer tools, including Firefox.
Be sure that you have adequate access to a computer, internet, word processor, etc. It is important to login into your class several times a week in order to be successful.
The Online Education Office highly recomends you strictly use the Firefox Web Browser while on E-class. This browser is most compatable and user friendly with Moodle based online classrooms. - Begin each lesson with prayer.
Ask the Lord to open your mind and heart to the truth He wants you to learn and put into action! - Read the syllabus carefully before beginning the course.
Be certain you understand all assignments and requirements. If you are confused or just have a question, contact your course professor. - Complete all reading assignments.
This will increase your understanding and retention of the information. - Have your study guide, Bible, and notebook open to the appropriate pages before beginning each lesson.
Be an active learner! If you complete something early, go back and review previous material. Take notes carefully as they will be an essential tool when you study. - Allow yourself a break whenever:
- You can catch your mind wandering.
- You want to record extra notes.
- A point confuses you.
- You just need a break.
- Discipline yourself carefully to complete the course in a reasonable period of time.
Please do not try to complete several lessons in one day – pace yourself. Conversely, do not allow too much time to lapse between lessons, as many build on each other. If you finish your lesson early, go back and study previous lessons. If you are behind, consider ways to catch up on your assignments. - Speak up if confusion or problems arise.
