The MACM degree consists of two components: a core component (21 hrs.) and a professional component (15 hrs.). Faculty recommend that you do not take more than 5-6 credit hours in a single semester. Distance students who complete more than this recommendation find it difficult to efficiently and satisfactorily give time to their studies, ministry/work responsibilities and family. Your faculty advisor will help with this organization process.
Faculty recommend that you complete the core component along with the professional component. Due to the flexibility of the course offerings and the student's schedule, the number of years you take to complete the degree is typically between 3-5 years. For example, some students complete the program in a three-year time frame. This assumes that two classes are taken each semester and each professional elective course is 3 credit hours. Students may take fewer courses each semester, thus lengthening their program. Faculty strongly recommend that the student complete the program within a five-year time frame.
